Approved Document N was withdrawn in England in 2013 and the functional requirements and technical guidance it contained were moved into Approved Document K1.

This included the use of safety glazing, guidance on how windows, skylights and ventilation points must be located where they can be safely opened and closed and how all areas where glass is present must be easily and safely accessible for the purposes of cleaning. 

2010 amendments

This edition incorporated amendments made in 2010 as well as the previous amendments made in 2000.
