It has been over two years since the Planning Portal Payment Service was introduced in September 2018. Almost overnight we saw a step change in how payment for planning applications across England was being made. Removing cheques from the process has not only sped it up, but has also reduced the number of applications being invalidated due to missing payments. The introduction of the ability to nominate a client to pay for an application has transformed the process for many agents.
