Planning Gateway One - Pre application service

HSE welcomes requests for pre-application advice. This can provide an opportunity to discuss fire safety matters in a less time-pressured way and to identify potential concerns at a time when they can be dealt with more effectively. This can reduce consenting risks for the developer and can have a beneficial impact on the assessment of applications by HSE by increasing familiarity with the project. It’s also an opportunity to request procedural advice to supplement the advice in this guidance.

This section explains how to request pre application advice and what information to send in advance. Also, how meetings will typically be run, who will attend from HSE and how advice will be provided following a meeting.

Pre-application advice can be provided in writing by an exchange of emails and/or at a pre-arranged meeting.

The pre-application service is currently free of charge.
