How long does it take for my payment to reach the LPA?

From September 2018, all payments for online planning applications are now processed by the Planning Portal. The time it takes for the payment and your application to reach the local planning authority (LPA) will depend on the payment method you use.

For example, online and telephone payments are instant. If paying by cheque, payments can take up to ten days after receipt of payment. We recommend paying for your application online, by phone or bank transfer to speed up the process.

Once you have completed your application and are ready to make a payment, the payment screen will provide the information you need relating to payment types and timescales.
