Groundwater protection

Before you submit your planning application

Before you submit your planning application, check whether you need to include additional information on Groundwater protection.

If you don’t submit the information you need:

  • The LPA may not validate your application
  • The Environment Agency are more likely to object to your application
  • The LPA may refuse planning permission

Providing the right information the first time, it is likely to:

  • Reduce the chances of receiving objections to your application
  • Avoid delays to the LPA deciding your application
  • Reduce the quantity/scope of recommended conditions relating to groundwater protection and give the LPA the opportunity to tailor any conditions appropriately.
  • Provides the Environment Agency with information it needs, in order to inform you if other environmental control permissions (permits) are also needed in addition to planning permission.
