How did the 2023 fee increases affect online application submissions?

There was a cut-off of 17:00 on 5 December 2023 for application submissions using the previous fee values.

The point of submission can be checked on the system and in the ‘Submitted date’ field in the notification emails sent to the user and Local Authority.

From 6 December, all application fee calculations use the higher values set by government.

Any non-submitted applications had payment processes cancelled and fee calculations reset so that users could recalculate using the updated fees, and then pay for and submit the application.

This is in line with the policy for submitting applications electronically which states that applications made after the close of business hours are taken to have been made the next working day (i.e. the 6 December, when the new fees take effect).
