What is a GeoJSON file and how is it different to JSON?

GeoJSON is a location data file format. It is a format for showing code of geographical features such as boundaries, polygons and other geographical information which is displayed as data.

There is no difference in the file extension both are data files and both use .json file extensions. A GeoJSON file represents geographical features, shapes, and points, whereas JSON represents structured data formats.
