What is JavaScript and how can I make sure it is enabled?

Our website and online services use JavaScript to enhance their functions and performance.

Therefore we recommend that JavaScript should be enabled in your web browser when using the Planning Portal.

See the instructions below on how to make sure JavaScript is enabled in your web browser.

If you are on a managed IT system, you may not have access to these functions, and should check with your IT support whether JavaScript is enabled.

Google Chrome

  1. Click on the Settings icon (a spanner on Macs, three horizontal lines on Windows) and select 'Settings'.
  2. Click 'Show advanced settings...' at the bottom of the page
  3. Scroll down to the 'Privacy' section and click on the 'Content settings...' button
  4. Make sure 'Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended)' is selected
  5. Click the 'Done' button
  6. Close the settings tab
  7. Close and reopen the browser

Firefox

  1. Open the menu and select 'Options'. An options panel will open
  2. Select the 'Content' tab
  3. Make sure the 'Enable JavaScript' box is ticked
  4. Click 'OK' to close the options panel
  5. Close and reopen the browser

Safari (OSX)

  1. Click on 'Safari' in the top bar and select 'Preferences'. An options panel will open
  2. Select the 'Security' tab
  3. In the section 'Web content' make sure that the 'Enable JavaScript' box is ticked
  4. Close the panel
  5. Close and reopen the browser
