Planning Gateway One - Different types of planning application
Full planning applications
Article 9A of the Development Management Procedure Order explains that applicants must submit a fire statement form with a full planning application if:
- it contains a relevant building
- it is a development within the curtilage of a relevant building
If the BSR is asked to comment on a full planning application that does not contain a fire statement form, we will decline to assess it on the basis that the application lacks the required information. In such cases, a fire statement form will be requested from the applicant by the Local Planning Authority (LPA). The BSR will take no further action until a fire statement form is received by the LPA and provided to the BSR.
A Fire Statement Form is not required for a change of use that would result in the building no longer being a relevant building or for a change of use of land or buildings in the curtilage of a relevant building, which would not result in the provision of a relevant building.
