Online planning applications - service charge
From 1 April 2021, we will be increasing the service charge to £23.33+ VAT.
The service charge applies to online planning applications that attract a planning fee of £60 or more.
Please note that our planned maintenance window is Sunday morning. Further information of any site maintenance, site outages or important information will be detailed below:
There is no maintenance scheduled at the moment.
Planning application address search issue
We are experiencing an issue with the address search used in the planning application service and are working with our supplier to get the problem resolved quickly. In the meantime, the eastings and northings search can be used by clicking the 'Address not found or the site has no postal address? Enter an easting and northing value for the site' link.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Logging in to your account
As of 19:30 on the 1 February 2021, old usernames will no longer be accepted when logging into the application service (1App) in order to comply with GDPR. Please ensure that you log in with your registered email address. Passwords will not be affected by this. Apologies for any inconvenience this causes.
Please be aware that there is an issue with the latest version of Apple's Safari browser (v14.0.1 - November 2020) preventing file upload on the majority of websites. Until Apple resolve the issue we would suggest using either the Chrome or Firefox browsers to complete your application's Supporting Documents section. Click here for more details (external link).
COVID-19 - Access to our Service Desk
Please note: The Planning Portal is an online application service based in Bristol. We are not part of any council and do not have a planning department so cannot offer planning advice. Therefore, if you need planning advice, please contact your local council’s planning department. Their contact details can be found by using our search tool.
Application payments: All online, telephone and BACS payments are being processed in accordance with our terms, but it is likely that payments made by cheque will incur some delays during this time. Instead of a cheque payment, we would encourage you to use an alternative payment option so that submission of your application is not impacted.
